Cantor extends investment banking reach with new hire

Cantor Fitzgerald has appointed Samir Hussein as Head of Internet and Media Investment Banking.

Cantor Fitzgerald has announced the appointment of Samir Hussein as Head of Internet and Media Investment Banking on Monday.

Hussein will focus on extending Cantor’s investment banking reach into the internet and digital media sectors. He will be based in New York and report to Charles Edelman and Jeff Lumby, Co-Heads of Investment Banking.

Hussein recently served as Managing Director in the investment banking division at JMP Securities, where he focused on M&A and financing transactions for internet and digital media clients. Previously, he served as Managing Director within the media and telecommunications group at Deutsche Bank and as a Principal in Bank of America’s M&A group.

Hussein also held senior investment banking positions at Morgan Stanley and Salomon Smith Barney and began his career as a corporate attorney at Shearman & Sterling. Hussein holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Psychology from Boston University.
