Real Madrid star thanks Di Maria for 'everything' - Manchester United move close?

Marcelo has thanked the Argentine for 'everything he has done for Madrid' as a move to Old Trafford seemingly beckons.

Real Madrid and Brazil left-back Marcelo has posted an emotional message to Angel Di Maria on Twitter.

The 26-year-old took to social media to thank Di Maria for 'everything he has done for Madrid' as speculation intensifies that he will swap the Bernabeu for Old Trafford in the coming days.

Reports suggest the Argentine is set for a big-money move to Manchester United, with a figure of over £50 million quoted.

And Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti today confirmed that Di Maria has said his goodbyes to his team-mates.

As such, Marcelo has also shared his thoughts on the deal, expressing his 'love' for the winger and thanking him for all he has done in Spain.

His message roughly translates as: "A Fidelito your feet !!! Thank you for everything you have done for madrid! You're too big hermanooo! I love !!"

The Brazilian's words suggest a deal is moving closer and closer as Louis van Gaal looks to bring the the 26-year-old to Manchester.

United face Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, having lost their Premier League opener to Swansea City.

Di Maria, meanwhile, will leave the La Liga side after a double-winning season, with Madrid having won both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League last term.
