The stat that proves Chelsea's £32m man is the ultimate fox-in-the-box

Diego Costa keeps on scoring, with the opposition area his canvas of choice.

Diego Costa continued his impressive start to his Chelsea career with the first goal in the Blues' 2-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday.

And following that strike, website Squawka revealed an interesting statistic about the Spanish international that means Chelsea fans should not be hoping for too many long-range screamers from their £32million man.

Of Costa's 39 league goals in the last three season, all but one have been scored inside the area, making the 25-year-old the ultimate fox-in-the-box.

Being in the right place at the right time is a skill in itself, and one that has seen some of the most legendary front-men in the game rack up considerable tallies; and although it is early days at Stamford Bridge, Costa looks like he will become a poacher extraordinaire, which is exactly what Jose Mourinho needs.

The former Atletico Madrid player is the type of player Chelsea were crying out for last season.  And given that they have a number of creative midfielders to put the ball on a plate for Costa, there is no reason he cannot be supplying the finishing touches so regularly that he wins this season's Golden Boot.

Just do not expect many of them to be from outside the box.
