The comedian suggested that perhaps United could get David Moyes back at the helm during the Sunderland game this afternoon.
He may not look like the archetypal football fan but British comedian and actor Russell Brand is certainly a follower of the pig-skin kicking. The Londoner is a massive West Ham fan and is often seen in attendance at the Old Boleyn shouting on his beloved Irons.
And while his Claret and Blues have had a fairly decent start to the season, one last minute Eric Dier strike aside, Manchester United have toiled in their opening two games.
The Red Devils lost to Swansea City on the opening game of the season and today they laboured to a 1-1 draw with Sunderland at The Stadium of Light. Certainly not the resurrection that was supposed to occur after the impressive pre-season Manchester United had under new boss Louis van Gaal.
And ever the opportunistic funny man Brand took to Twitter to quip about the managerial situation at the club, suggesting that perhaps United might grovelingly return to their 2013-14 coach David Moyes:
"Seriously though. Moyes was alright. Did anyone keep his number?" #unitedbench— Russell Brand (@rustyrockets) August 24, 2014
I think United fans would rather see Sam Allardyce in charge then the reins be handed back to Moyes, Russell.
Will Van Gaal turn things around for United?
