Reports this weekend have suggested that Lukas Podolski's time at Arsenal is coming to an end, but at least one man believes the German international should remain at the Emirates Stadium this season.
Former players turned journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft will be well known to those Arsenal fans who keep a close eye on the rumour mill. After all, he was among the first to break the news of Mesut Ozil's transfer to the Gunners last summer, while also keeping Arsenal fans up to date on the Julian Draxler rumours at the start of the year.
And now Fjortoft has taken to Twitter to send a message to Podolski following continuing reports that he is set for pastures new.
"Bild reporting Poldi will leave Arsenal regardless," the Bundesliga specialist wrote. "I think you should stay one more year."
With Alexis Sanchez arriving this summer, Joel Campbell back from his loan spell and Yaya Sanogo impressing during the Emirates Cup, game-time is likely to be rare for the World Cup winner. But there are a number of Gunners fans who believe the former Cologne player deserves more chances to show what he can do.
And it seems Fjortoft has a similar feeling.
