Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is not afraid of speaking his mind, but his comments recently caused a bit of controversy in Germany.
After the club's friendly against Werder Bremen, the manager made clear that he felt one team only could win the Bundesliga.
He said: "The English League is not like the German one, where you know who will finish first and second. In England you might finish first or sixth. The Premier League is tough."
Several weeks on and Mourinho's comments are still attracting ire, and one Bundesliga boss has hit back.
It's safe to say Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol does not agree that the Premier League is stronger.
He is reported by German outlet Sport1 to have said: "I have made my thoughts after Mourinho's statements.
"I say: If Bayern or Dortmund would play in England, it would be clear who will win:. Bayern or Dortmund.
"The level of top teams is not as high as with us."
Certainly it will be fascinating this season when the Champions League groups are drawn and the knockout stages reached, it's inevitable Chelsea will clash with either Dortmund or Bayern.
And when they do, it will be Gisdol's assessment which is put to the test.
