Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Mesut Ozil’s performance against Everton

Arsenal supporters take to Twitter to have their say on how Mesut Ozil played against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Mesut Ozil returned to action for Arsenal on Saturday as he started their Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park.

The Germany international midfielder, who joined the Gunners from Real Madrid for a transfer fee of £42.5 million last summer, had a mixed debut season in England in 2013-14.

Much is expected of the 25-year-old this term, and he was set to kick off the campaign in style after winning the 2014 World Cup in Brazil last month.

However, Ozil failed to hit top form for Arsenal in Liverpool on Saturday and had a rather disappointing match.

Manager Arsene Wenger deployed the former Werder Bremen star on the wing, and he understandably struggled due to his lack of pace.

In fact, Ozil was at fault for Everton’s first goal as he failed to track back in time and did not quite recover after that setback.

Following the 2-2 draw, Arsenal fans took to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the performance of their star player.

Here is a selection of their tweets. We have also included tweets of other clubs’ supporters to gauge their reaction to Ozil’s display against Everton.
