Chelsea star Eden Hazard carried on where he left off from last season with a superb performance during his side’s 2-0 victory over Leicester City at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Belgian international was the Blues’ standout player last season as he scored 14 goals and added a further seven assists in 32 league starts.
His fine form led to comparisons with La Liga superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with boss Jose Mourinho also throwing his weight behind the claims.
After a rather disappointing World Cup performance with Belgium, however, the Stamford Bridge faithful will have been anxiously hoping that their number 10 can rediscover his old form ahead of the new campaign.
Worry not Chelsea fans, as last year’s Player of the Year is back with a bang.

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, the 23-year-old was an attacking threat throughout as he played seven key passes, completed six successful dribbles and recovered the ball five times.
Aside from his attacking threat, Hazard was efficient in possession as he maintained an 89% pass success rate – the Blues’ fifth best on the day.
The former Lille star’s fine performance was topped off with a goal late in the second half as he drilled a low shot from the left which crept under the otherwise impressive Leicester shot-.stopper Kasper Schmeichel.
