This term, he has been sent on loan to the Amex Stadium, where he is being coached by former Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia.
And the Finn is clearly getting the best out of the 21-year-old, who is making a big impact at a side that had lost their opening two league games before his arrival.
First, he scored during the midweek win at Leeds United, before settling Brighton's latest clash earlier today.
"Joao is a very good player," Hyypia told reporters after his side's win. "We also need quality from the other players and if we manage to do that we'll get Joao on the ball and he'll be dangerous.
"It's going to be a good test for him. His goal is to play at the highest level and he's on the right track."
Teixeira is held in high regard at Anfield and, should his promising form continue, the Portuguese playmaker really could be destined for greatness.
Liverpool already have promising talents in the likes of Jordon Ibe, Suso and more - but none of which are scoring game after game.
Ibe, for instance, scored just once during his loan spell at Birmingham City last season.
