Spurs transfer news: Welbeck and Remy latest; Tottenham duo not wanted as part of deal

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

It is a tale of two strikers this morning with Tottenham Hotspur linked with two rumour-mill favourites.

The Times claims Spurs are keen on bringing Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck to White Hart Lane, after his exit was seemingly made easier following reports he could leave his hometown club.

It is not the first time the England international has been linked with a move to Spurs. But it is the first time a move has seemed likely with Louis van Gaal reportedly prepared to part company with the 23-year-old.

That said, Tottenham could be back in for Queens Park Rangers’ Loic Remy, with the Telegraph reporting that the Frenchman is still wanted by Spurs.

That said, QPR boss Harry Redknapp is said to be reluctant to let Remy leave, which is understandable given his quality.

Redknapp also revealed that he did not want either Michael Dawson or Andros Townsend included in any deal that ultimately took Remy to his former club.
