It is fair to say that Siem de Jong will have a bigger impact at Newcastle United than his brother Luuk, whose loan spell at St James' Park failed to yield a single goal.
The £6million summer signing from Ajax almost outscored his younger sibling in just 20 minutes on the pitch, only to see his shot saved well by Villa's Brad Guzan.
But how did the 25-year-old attacking midfielder do overall?
Replacing Vurnon Anita after 70 minutes, de Jong went on to complete 100% of his passes, get his only scoring attempt on target and almost net with that single effort.
|Match||Passing Accuracy||Total Scoring Attempt||On-target Scoring Attempt||Mins Played|
|Siem de Jong||Aston Villa vs Newcastle||100%||1||1||20|
It was a performance that prompted a number of Newcastle fans to hail a new hero, believing he will go on to do extremely well for the Magpies once he has bedded into the side.
Others were a little less impressed, but they were very much in the minority, and it seems the player who netted 78 times for Ajax is going to be a future terrace favourite at his new club.
After the match against Villa, we took to Twitter to see what Newcastle fans made of their debutant's performance, and you can read a selection of what we found below:
