Carragher tips Arsenal and Everton youngsters to be future defensive partners

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has hinted that Arsenal and Everton could be in possession of a future centre-back pairing for England.

On Saturday evening, Arsenal and Everton face each other at Goodison Park.

In a match that is hard to predict, the Toffees will be hoping to replicate their outstanding performance against the Gunners last season, when they beat Arsene Wenger's men 3-0.

That said, aside from that match the London side have a great record against the Merseyside club and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top this weekend.

Whatever the result, both sides are very much on the up, and both are in possession of some fantastic young players who are being tipped to grace the game for at least the next decade.

Two such players are Calum Chambers and John Stones, and a former defender who knows what it takes to be among the best has sung their praises.

Ex-Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has tweeted his excitement in the build-up to the match between Everton and Arsenal, asking if Chambers and Stones could be England's centre-back pairing of the future.

Few who have seen them develop would disagree, but while they could one day be playing together for their country, today their thoughts will be solely on getting one over the other.
