Vargas reveals reason for joining QPR

Queens Park Rangers new boy Eduardo Vargas has explained his reasons for choosing to relocate to Loftus Road from Napoli.

Despite being strongly linked with Arsenal, Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas has signed a season long loan with Queens Park Rangers.

The 24-year-old underwent his medical in West London on Wednesday afternoon and now all the paperwork has been completed.

Vargas played an important role at the World Cup for Chile, but Napoli boss Rafa Benitez doesn't seem to rate him and sent him out on loan to Spanish side Valencia last season.

Ahead of the new campaign, Vargas was told that he should again look for another club on a temporary basis and he has explained why QPR appealed.

"I am very happy to be at QPR," he said on a Youtube video on QPR's channel.

"Mauricio Isla told me on the phone that this is a great bunch of players to work with and an excellent group.

"The Premier League is a very difficult and competitive league and I can't wait to play there.

"What are my characteristics? I am fast, I am always looking for the goal and to help my team. I want to get to know my teammates immediately and earn their trust so I can give my best on the pitch."

Isla, an international teammate of Vargas, joined QPR on loan from Juventus at the start of August.
