Report: Balotelli boards private jet for Liverpool, contract agreed

Mario Balotelli - San Siro, Milan, Italy

Italian press sources agree that Mario Balotelli has agreed a contract and boarded a jet bound for Liverpool this afternoon.

The final stages of Mario Balotelli's move to Liverpool have been wrapped up, according to the latest reports from Italy.

The enigmatic marksman reportedly boarded a private jet to fly to Liverpool for his medical at around 1pm this afternoon, according to a variety of Italian newspapers.

Liverpool are believed to be paying AC Milan £16 million for the Italian international, who previously played in the Premier League for Manchester City.

Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola has been in England negotiating contract terms and seems to have agreed a lucrative deal for his client.

La Gazzetta dello Sport believes that Balotelli will receive a four-year contract worth around £4.8 million per season with Liverpool.

Milan expected to sell Balotelli at the start of the summer after a miserable 2013-14 campaign that saw the Rossoneri fail to qualify for Europe.

While Balotelli managed 26 goals in 43 games for Milan, which is an impressive strike rate, there were always question marks over his commitment and he frequently won the wrong kind of headlines off the pitch.
