Manchester United have been linked with several top players in the transfer market.
Manchester United’s defeat to Swansea City last weekend has created mass speculation that several players will be heading to Old Trafford before the transfer window slams shut.
Marcos Rojo has already signed on the dotted line but the club are reportedly looking at deals for several other players, as Louis van Gaal looks to at least get United back into the top four of the Premier League.
Here are five of the best players to have been linked with United moves in the last week.
Angel Di Maria (Real Madrid)
The Argentine winger rejected a new contract with Real Madrid, which has been taken as a sure fire sign that he will leave the club. United are the current favourites to tie him down to a long term deal if they can convince him to sign despite not having European football.
Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)
The other Real Madrid star to have turned down a new contract at the European champions is Sami Khedira. The German has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal though United are thought to be keen on doing a deal, which will see him inserted into the middle of their team.
Daley Blind (Ajax)
Blind has been strongly connected with Manchester United ever since he impressed at the World Cup for the Netherlands, playing under Louis van Gaal. Blind is a versatile player who could offer cover on the left hand side for United as well as providing an option in defensive midfield positions.
Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa)
United could swoop for experienced defender Ron Vlaar who also played under LvG at the World Cup. He’s experienced in terms of Premier League football and is experienced with the system that LvG likes to use. Whether United have enough time to work through a deal is doubtful.
Lucas Silva (Cruzeiro)
United are thought to be one of several clubs interested in signing Silva, with some reports suggesting they are already in talks with Cruzeiro over a move. However, Silva plays as a creative midfielder where United already have options in the form of Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.
