Excitable Liverpool fans rushed to prospective signing Mario Balotelli after the Italian emerged from Melwood earlier this evening, Friday.
Balotelli, formerly of Manchester City, could complete his return to the Premier League over the weekend as he finalises the terms of his £16 million switch from AC Milan.
After exiting the Etihad Stadium and joining Milan, Balotelli scored 12 goals in his first 12 Serie A starts for the Rossoneri. Last season, he returned 14 goals and six assists from 25 starts.
It is believed that Balotelli has signed a contract with the Reds that stands to earn the physically-adept forward £120,000 per week.
His addition will help relieve the goal-scoring burden from Daniel Sturridge, Rickie Lambert, Raheem Sterling and even Steven Gerrard.
The deal has not been concluded in enough time to permit Balotelli to feature in the marquee match-up against Manchester City on Monday.
