A selection of the latest transfer stories involving Liverpool Football Club this Friday morning.
Liverpool target Mario Balotelli will have to sign a contract which contains several clauses regarding his behaviour if he wants to complete his switch from AC Milan.
It was widely reported yesterday that the two clubs agreed a fee of £16 million for the striker and according to the Liverpool Echo. The meeting between chief executive Ian Ayre and Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola has been described as 'productive' with further discussions set to take place today.
It is therefore unlikely he will be registered in time to make his Liverpool debut against his old club Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday.
Milan were said to be after a fee of around £25 million in the summer for the player but with the steep reduction in fee demanded, manager Brendan Rodgers feels it's worth the gamble.
There were a number of other strikers seemingly considered for a move according to the Echo. The pursuits of Alexis Sanchez and Loic Remy are well documented whilst Wilfried Bony's wage demands proved to be a sticking point.
It's reported that Liverpool considered a move for Aston Villa's Chrisitan Benteke, and ambitious moves for Radamel Falcao, Edinson Cavani and Karim Benzema.
Free agent Samuel Eto'o has also been linked with the club on a short-term basis after his contract expired at Chelsea towards the end of last season. The Daily Mirror has reported that Liverpool are still interested in the experienced forward.
