Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that new summer signing Lazar Markovic is in contention for his debut against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night.
The £20 million signing from Benfica missed the Reds' opening day win over Southampton because of a slight hamstring injury.
The Reds' boss also confirmed that Adam Lallana will return to training over the weekend after picking up a knee injury on the club's tour of the United States, but won't feature in Monday night's game.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Rodgers said: "Markovic will come into the squad, he's been excellent in training. Adam Lallana is in the latter stages of his rehabilitation, he'll train with the team on Sunday."
Jose Enrique is a doubt whilst Daniel Agger and Jon Flanagan will both miss out.
Rodgers confirmed that left-back Alberto Moreno will be part of the squad that travels to Manchester City, after completing his move from Sevilla last weekend.
The Liverpool boss said he wasn't allowed to talk about Balotelli until the player was signed but did talk about code of conduct and the environment created for players at the club - after reports circulated suggested that Balotelli has to adhere to certain rules over his behaviour before becoming a Liverpool player.
Rodgers added: "We've quite an extensive code of conduct for players and staff here.
"We've got a fantastic environment here and a great culture.
"We've got a real learning environment for players."
Rodgers didn't rule out any further signings but said the bulk of Liverpool's business had been done during pre-season.
