Manchester United still seem to be trying to lure Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, but they may need to keep an eye on Plan B Fredy Guarin.
Colombian international Guarin is expected to leave Inter this summer after being on the brink of joining Juventus last January.
The talented playmaker is widely seen as a second choice for Manchester United, who have been eyeing Juventus star Vidal.
Guarin has reportedly agreed in principle to a move to Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg and the two clubs are getting closer to agreeing a fee.
Inter are said to want at least £13 million for Guarin while Zenit are only offering just under £10 million at present, but it seems that a compromise could be reached shortly.
It is likely that Guarin would prefer to join Manchester United if the chance arose, but he will be wary of running out of time and being stuck at Inter again, as happened in January.
Manchester United could find that their pursuit of Vidal costs them the chance of other targets and will be under pressure to either land the Chilean or move on soon.
Should Manchester United give up on Vidal and sign Guarin?
