News from Spain is that Real Madrid believe Sami Khedira has struck a new deal with another club, but who? Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich all linked.
Contrary to popular opinion that Real Madrid and Sami Khedira are at loggerheads over contractual negotiations, the two parties have failed to speak to each other in one month.
It is an unprecedented situation.
Khedira, 27, is not only a Champions League winner with Los Blancos but a World Champion with Germany. He also is one of the best defensive midfield operators with no shortage of admirers as, over the course of the summer, Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all reportedly expressed interest.
However, the Spanish press talk up an "ongoing silent war" that will not likely be resolved until "a few minutes before the summer transfer window closes on September 1."
The player's representative Jorg Neubauer has not contacted Real since July and has since been linked with a trip to London in order to sound out a prospective move to one of Arsenal or Chelsea.
The reason for the breakdown in communications with the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu side is due to "irreconcilable financial differences," yet neither the Gunners nor the Blues appear particularly eager to appease Khedira's desired wage package.
Regardless, Khedira may have already finalised a new contract - albeit one away from Real, but with whom?
"Real Madrid suspect that Khedira has reached a deal with another club for next season," write MARCA. "Which is why he does not want to sign a new deal for the money on offer."
