Let's cast our eyes back to this exact day, the 21st August 2014, but a year earlier.
What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 21st August 2013…
A year ago today and it was reported that Arsenal were ready to bust open the safe as they began 'working on deals to sign Real Madrid attacking pair Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria.'
It came after the club had failed in bids for both Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez, the former joining Napoli after Arsenal decided they wanted the latter - who stayed at Liverpool.
Real Madrid were looking to sell at least one marquee player in order to facilitate the move for Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale.
But in the end Arsenel signed neither - instead it was Mesut Ozil they were offered and they duly snapped Real's hand off.
A year later and Benzema is happy at Real while Di Maria has told the club he wants to leave - with Manchester United lurking.
A year ago today and guess what, Willian was undergoing that infamous Tottenham medical. Spurs had agreed a fee with Anzhi for the Brazilian international believed to be in the region of £30 million and Willian had flown over from Russia the previous day in order to go through the details of a move.
But then, it all went pear shaped.
Tottenham's decision not to keep the deal quiet backfired as Chelsea swooped in and signed themselves just a few days later.
A year ago today and Liverpool rejected a move from Napoli for central defender Martin Skrtel. The Slovakian was said to be available for around £10 million, but the injury to Sebastian Coates meant they were not willing to sell.
He went on to play a starring role for the club in their impressive season.
Should Arsenal target Di Maria now?
