Manchester United transfer news: Vlaar plans to speed up? Blind next on LvG radar

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Manchester United.

Manchester United will reportedly step up their pursuit of Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar.

The Dutch centre-back has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford and United could now be forced into a move.

Southampton have admitted that they are admirers of the Dutch defender, which could prompt United into action for the threat of missing out.

Louis van Gaal has reportedly turned his attention to signing Daley Blind from Ajax following a move for Marcos Rojo.

The Daily Star claims LvG is keen on snapping up the defensive star who played under him for the Netherlands at the World Cup.

Blind can provide cover on the left as well as filling a holding midfield role.

Juventus head Guiseppe Marotta has ruled out a move to Manchester United for Arturo Vidal.

The Chilean has been linked with United for much of the summer with Louis van Gaal thought to be keen on a deal.

“We have no ongoing negotiations, nor have had requests the player to leave. Vidal has always said he wanted to stay here and we are more than happy to keep him,” the director told reporters.
