1) Adryan transfer agreed - report
Reports claim that Adryan’s transfer from Flamengo to Leeds United has been agreed in principle.
The Whites have been after the 20-year-old, once tipped to be the next Kaka, for some time now as an agreement stalled, but they appear to have made progress in forcing the deal over the line.
Leeds had been ordered to pay £5 million for the diminutive playmaker, if they wanted him outright, but they seemingly have been able to agree a loan deal for the player now.
The move is complicated as Leeds have to do business with not just Flamengo, but Cagliari, who he is currently on loan at, too, but a compromise appears to have made between Leeds and the Serie A club.
David Hockaday's side now just need to get the okay from Flamengo and they will have the green-light on the transfer.
2) Zan Benedicic battling for fitness
New Leeds United signing, Zan Benedicic, is behind the rest of the squad on fitness, David Hockaday has revealed.
The 18-year-old on loan from AC Milan has been left out of the Whites’ 18 man squad for their past two league games and supporters have already begun to question the reason his absence.
Hockaday, however, insists that it is simply a matter of his poor fitness levels and once they are similar to the rest of the squad’s he will be in first-team contention.
“It’s about him getting match sharp," Hockaday said.
“He’d been with Milan in America (for the club’s pre-season tour) but he hadn’t played any games. He came to us, he trained with us and then we played him against Accrington Stanley but it was very obvious in that game that he lacked match fitness.”
3) Chris Powell favourite to take Huddersfield Town post
Chris Powell has been made the favourite to take the vacant managerial post at Huddersfield Town.
The Terriers split with Mark Robins after the first game of the season – a 4-0 home defeat to Bournemouth – and they have since been looking for a replacement.
Already linked have been the likes of Steven Pressley and Patrick Kluivert, but with both seemingly ruling themselves out of a move Powell has become the favourite to take charge.
4) Liam Palmer hails new Wednesday signing
Liam Palmer has hailed the club’s signing of Tom Lees from Leeds United over the summer, saying the defender has become a leader at Hillsborough already.
The Owls have made an encouraging start to the season, remaining unbeaten in their first three league games, and Palmer believes that Lees’s impact has been one of the reasons for this.
“Tom has been tremendous. He is a leader on the pitch and before the game, he is giving out advice and that spreads throughout the team and you cannot ask for much more," Palmer said.
“In terms of the back four, we have gelled really quickly and Tuesday was the first goal we have conceded this season, which was hard to take with the manner it came about.
“But everyone is working for each other and the manager and that is showing on the pitch.”
5) Clough to utilise full squad
Nigel Clough insists that he will play the entirety of his Sheffield United squad across the season and has urged for patience.
The Blades boss says that he has not fielded his strongest side yet and is planning to use everyone around the first-team as the campaign progresses.
"We’re playing three games a week more often than not at this stage, so it doesn’t do any harm to change things up when it’s Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday," he explained.
“We’ve got an 18-20 man squad, and they will all be used at some point throughout the season.
“A few lads have been disappointed that they haven’t been starting, but they’ve got to recognise that it’s a long, long season.
“They’ve got to stick with it, and be ready if and when we need them.”
