If United offer Di Maria same terms as PSG, he will sign - Spanish radio

Angel Di Maria Argentina

Spanish radio station Cadena Cope has reported that if Manchester United meet Angel Di Maria's PSG demands he will join the club.

This morning has seen Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti confirm that Angel Di Maria has told the club he wants to leave this summer.

The Italian told reporters:

"Di Maria has asked to leave and rejected [a contract] offer from club. [But] if he does not find a future solution he stays, no problem."

That has of course sent Manchester United fans into overdrive. The club have been consistently linked with his signature this summer and after the departure of Nani a new winger is certainly a must on the summer wish-list of Louis van Gaal. In fact, van Gaal openly admitted his admiration for Di Maria earlier this summer.

At the moment it is not believed Manchester United have made an offer for the Argentine, who incidentally is close friends with new recruit Marcos Rojo, but one team who reportedly have this summer were Paris Saint-Germain.

Yesterday, Spanish radio station Cadena Cope reported on the Di Maria situation. They suggested that PSG agreed terms with Di Maria on a move, but when Real revealed their asking price, PSG pulled out. That is not to say he was astronomically expensive. Rather PSG are currently worried about FFP and had already splashed £40 million odd on Chelsea defender David Luiz this summer.

But the source continued, stating that if United matched the terms that were on offer by PSG, he would make the switch regardless of Champions League football not being offered.

However, Real are still believed to want a lot for the Argentine. Meanwhile Di Maria's demands from PSG were likely to be very high, perhaps higher than United will want to spend, so this deal is still very much a tenuous idea, a dream for some.

But as more news develops it becomes increasingly obvious that Di Maria is leaving Real Madrid this summer, with United looking like the only suitors at this time.
