The former Tottenham and England striker thinks the 'box-office' Italy forward will 'spice up' Premier League weekends.
Reports state that the Italy striker is on his way to Liverpool, with speculation intensifying this morning to suggest the move is all but a done deal.
Balotelli divided fans with his controversial antics in his last Premier League spell at Manchester City, when he did everything from fight with manager Roberto Mancini to light fireworks from within his house.
And Lineker appears delighted that the 24-year-old will be back on English shores, frequenting shows like Lineker's own Match of the Day.
Indeed, the former England striker believes Balotelli will 'spice up' our weekends with his 'box-office' antics.
Oooh @FinallyMario to Liverpool? That would spice up our weekends. Box player and box office!— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) August 21, 2014
Liverpool are believed to have agreed a fee with AC Milan for the Italian, with a figure of £16 million discussed in many quarters.
Balotelli has been at the San Siro since 2013, when he signed after three years at Manchester City.
That followed three years at Inter Milan, where the 24-year-old had worked with Mancini and Jose Mourinho.
With Fabio Borini potentially leaving Liverpool this summer, Balotelli would be the Reds' third striker, with Daniel Sturridge and Rickie Lambert alongside him.
