There have been frenzied rumours over the last few days that AC Milan are discussing the future of Mario Balotelli with Liverpool and the stories appear to have been confirmed.
Milan had expected to sell Balotelli at the start of the summer and seemed to be headed for a £28 million sale to Arsenal before a poor World Cup campaign snuffed out a deal.
During the last month it has looked increasingly like Balotelli would stay at Milan and try and rebuild from there, but now a transfer may be back on the cards.
The English and Italian press have been reporting that Liverpool are keen to lure Balotelli and the player's agent Mino Raiola is in England, possibly to try and get things moving.
It has widely been suggested that any deal may be a season long loan, but the latest reports state that the discussions are for a permanent transfer.
Liverpool have been linked with ex-Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o lately and are still looking to replace Luis Suarez after his move to Barcelona.
There could be important developments within the next 48 hours.
