This morning photos emerged showing Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini in crutches and with his left-foot in a protective boot. The Belgian is therefore clearly injured and the knock on effect this should have is likely to see United fail to get rid of the Belgian this summer.
This week Napoli were heavily linked with being on the verge of completing his signature, but the former Everton man appears to have seen an Italian switch collapse with his latest ailment.
Reports in Italy have since suggested this is the truth and now the club have snapped up a familiar face which would also suggest they have moved on from Fellaini.
Swansea City defeated United last weekend, with two of their returning stars in Ki Sung-Yeung and Gylfi Sigurdsson bagging the goals. The central midfielders replaced Jonathan De Guzman in the heart of midfield - the Dutch international who had been on loan from Villarreal for two seasons.
But Napoli have now revealed on their official Twitter account that they have won the race to his coveted permanent signing:

Both Fellaini and De Guzman are similar players, and while the arrival of De Guzman is likely to be mere coincidence, the fact it happened on the same day of Fellaini's injury emergence certainly suggests Napoli no longer need to pursue the Manchester United flop.
Can De Guzman be a hit in Italy? Do United need to sell Fellaini?
