4J working on fixes, release might not land this month.
Gamers on PS4 waiting for Minecraft may have to hold out a little longer than expected. 4J Studios, the devs behind Minecraft ports to console have taken to Twitter to say:
Sony found some issues we have to fix in their final test of #MinecraftPS4 :( We're fixing, but we need to go through the process again.— 4J Studios (@4JStudios) August 20, 2014
Of course it's not unheard of for a game to fail certification on the first submission and if the fixes required are easy enough to do then there should only be a short delay.
Minecraft on PS4 (and Xbox One) will be able to give you much bigger worlds than the existing PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, which paired with longer draw distances, native 1080p resolution and a frame rate of 60fps make the new ports look very desirable.
Despite news of delays, we could still get the PS4 version late this month or early September.
There are still no updates for the Xbox One and Vita Minecraft versions also said to be coming in August.
We hope the delay won't be too long.
