Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has given a thumbs up to the club's new addition Marcos Rojo.
The Argentine international sealed his move to the Red Devils on Wednesday evening, and will go into the squad available for selection against Sunderland this coming weekend.
Van Gaal told ManUtd.com: "Marcos is a very gifted defender. He has played at the highest level in world football and can play either as a central defender or left-back.
"He has ability, physical strength and a willingness to learn that means he has a very bright future ahead of him.
"He had a very strong World Cup and has been playing in Europe for a couple of years now. He is a very good addition to the team."
Rojo impressed particularly against Van Gaal's Netherlands side, keeping a clean sheet in the 0-0 semi-final draw, which led to Argentina beating the Dutch on penalties.
With the Red Devils low on numbers in defence due to departures and injuries, Rojo will help freshen up the backline, and help lift a side whose confidence took a serious knock with a loss in their Premier League opener to Swansea.
