Leeds United suffered a setback last night when they were defeated by Brighton at Elland Road. with that in mind the club are still trying to do plenty of business in the transfer market and one player they have chased this summer is Ternana striker Mirko Antenucci.
Leeds reportedly wanted him on loan earlier this summer, a deal Terni pulled the plug on, despite the player being keen on a move. They want to sell him permanently, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, their price-tag is €1.5 million.
Antenucci is 30-years-old but did score an impressive 19 goals in 40 appearances in Serie B last term. But at that price it is probably a deal best to steer clear of.
The good news however is that Ternana have reportedly lowered those demands - to a more manageable fee of around £640,000.
Now the player himself has posted a series of Tweets on his Twitter account confirming he is on his way to Leeds to sign for the Championship side.
He said his goodbyes to the club in the pictured Tweet, in which he stated:
"Tomorrow I leave for a new adventure. It is difficult to express what I have felt this year in a Tweet..."
"I thank all the fans of the beasts. Immense affection and all the people with whom I shared so much! Good luck."
Antenucci could sign by the end of the day.
