Liverpool transfer news, Ibe set for loan spell, Markovic on expectations

A selection of the latest transfer stories surrounding Liverpool Football Club this Wednesday morning.

Liverpool are prepared to send young winger Jordon Ibe on loan to Bolton Wanderers according to the Daily Mirror.

The 18-year-old was an unused substitute during Sunday's 2-1 win over Southampton at Anfield in the Premier League, but given the signings of Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic this summer, Ibe's opportunities could be limited.

Ibe impressed on Liverpool's pre-season tour of the USA, and spent part of last season on loan in the Championship at Birmingham City.

Lazar Markovic has been talking to the Liverpool Echo following his £20 million arrival from Benfica, saying that the price paid for him doesn't affect him and that he knows the fans will expect a lot from him.

The 20-year-old said: “I’ve never thought about anything in relation to money. I’ve never cared about or done anything for money in my personal or my professional life.

“What does it even mean to be more expensive than others? It absolutely doesn’t matter. The pitch, not the money, is the measure of everyone’s worth in football.

“I believe Liverpool fans expect a lot from me, and to be honest I expect a lot from myself. The same applies for the people who worked hard to bring me here."

Sunderland appear to be turning their attentions away from Fabio Borini according to the Daily Mail and targeting Manchester United's Danny Welbeck instead.

A fee of around £14 million has been agreed for the sale of Borini for quite some time, and the Black Cats have been awaiting a decision from the Italian. The report indicates that Borini - who spent last season on loan at the Stadium of Light - is still undecided over his future.
