Oscar has taken to Instagram to hail the ‘great week’ that he is having.
The Chelsea midfield star started in his side’s 3-1 victory over Burnley on Monday night before being called up to the Brazil squad yesterday and it has been the ideal start to the 2014/2015 season for the youngster.
Oscar was one of only 10 members of the Brazil squad from the World Cup to survive for the huge changes that Dunga made in his first-squad since taking charge.
The Selecao are looking to recover from a dismal World Cup – where a 7-1 defeat to Germany in the semi-final still can be recalled vividly – and Dunga has already set about his intention to make big chances and mark a new era for his nation.
Oscar survived the cull, though, as he was one of the host’s better performers over the course of the international tournament in the summer. The 22-year-old was one of the only Brazilian players to come out of the competition with any credit and he will be regarded as one of the most pivotal players for them from now in.
Dunga is already looking towards the future and, alongside Neymar, Oscar will be one of the players who they turn to pick the side up from their summer disappointment.
He will also be one of his club side’s most important players this season. Jose Mourinho has already stated his admiration for Oscar and as Chelsea look to regain the Premier League crown he will be expected to kick on.
The former Internacional star started last campaign in blistering form, but his displays tailed off towards the back end of the season and he will need to ensure that there is no dip in his performance levels this time around.
Chelsea are the bookies’ favourites to finish on top of the Premier League and Monday’s win over Burnley did little to calm expectations.
The Blues were brilliant throughout the match as they took apart the top-flight new-boys and Oscar will be hoping that he can celebrate plenty more good weeks as the season progresses.
