Chelsea fans have their say on Twitter over Cech's future - 'I want to see Courtois sweat every match'

Chelsea fans have had their say on what they think Petr Cech should do with regards to his future.

Petr Cech’s Chelsea future hangs in the balance following Jose Mourinho’s decision to start Thibaut Courtois earlier this week against Burnley.

That decision suggests that Mourinho will back Courtois as the club’s main goalkeeper this season, leaving Cech with an extremely difficult decision relating to his future.

He’s faced with two options; he can push for a move away or he can stay and feature in domestic cup games and matches where Mourinho feels Courtois needs a rest from first team duty.

Considering Cech is still only 32-years-old it’s likely that he’ll look for an exit if the right opportunity and offer comes along.

It’s an unfortunate situation for Chelsea to be in because Cech has done nothing wrong to deserve being forced down to the subs bench.

However, Courtois form and development during his time at Atletico Madrid has been so impressive, Chelsea are effectively ensuring they keep the man who could be their goalkeeper for the next 15 years.

He looked solid, commanding and confident against Burnley and Mourinho is likely to have been impressed by the attitude Courtois showed when he was at Atletico Madrid and when he headed back to London.

The Belgian is thought to have made it clear in no uncertain terms that he wanted to be Chelsea’s number one and if the club wasn’t willing to offer him that, he’d seek a move elsewhere.

He backed up his Atletico form with some positive performances at the World Cup for Belgium and hit the ground running when he reported back for first team duty.

As much as Mourinho will want to hang onto Cech, his hands are tied because the Blues can’t deny him a move to another club when he’s been such a consistent long serving member of the first team.

Here’s what Chelsea fans think Cech should do.
