Two horror titles from Atari’s back catalogue will be coming to PC this autumn

Atari has announced that two ‘re-imagined’ versions of games inspired by Haunted House and Alone in the Dark will be launching on PC later this year.

Haunted House, which originally came out for the Atari 2600 in 1982, is under development at Italian studio Dreampainters, who previously worked on the Psychological horror Anna. The latest Haunted House title from Atari follows a sequel of the same name which was released in 2010 on PC, Wii and Xbox Live Arcade.

Atari’s Alone in the Dark remake subtitled, Illumination will resurrect the franchise that started in 1992. According to the game's official website the devs behind Illumination are Pure, a previously unknown studio based in LA. The last Alone In the Dark game (pictured above) was published by Atari for PS3, PS2, PC, Wii and Xbox 360 back in 2008.

Both games will be formally revealed at PAX Prime next weekend, with playable demos available. Also to be shown by Atari at the event is the recently announced PC game, Rollercoaster Tycoon World.
