Arsenal have been tipped to make a major signing in the transfer market if they qualify for the Champions League group stage.
Goal.com’s chief correspondent Wayne Veysey, who regularly covers Arsenal, claims to have been told that the Gunners will push for one more big signing before the close of the transfer window if Arsenal edge past Besiktas in their Champions League play-off.

Arsenal were frustrated as they were held to a 0-0 draw in Turkey last night, with Wojciech Szczesny on top form to ensure the Gunners kept a clean sheet in a hostile atmosphere.
The tie will now head back to London where Arsenal will be confident of securing a win in front of their own supporters.
They will also benefit from having the likes of Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski available with the World Cup winning trio having just returned to training.
Where the major new signing will come in is unclear but the performances of Calum Chambers in the middle of the defence could make Arsene Wenger’s job a little easier.
Chambers’ effectiveness in the middle of the back four is reducing the need for Wenger to find a replacement for the outgoing Thomas Vermaelen.
One position where Arsenal could still use a new player is in front of their own defence, with a defensive midfielder questionably a necessary addition to the squad.
However, Arsenal do have players who can play in that role with Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini all more than capable of patrolling the space between midfield and defence.
Arsenal’s first job is to ensure they qualify for the group stage of the competition, then and only then can Wenger focus on bulking up the squad ahead of a long and very important season.
