Marcos Rojo has spoken on his imminent move to Old Trafford.
Manchester United are on the verge of making Sporting Lisbon left-back Marcos Rojo their fourth summer signing of the summer.
The Argentine international has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils over the past week and his comments last night suggested that a deal was all-but wrapped up.
Talking to an Argentine radio station, Portuguese media outlet Maisfutbol has quoted the player as saying:
"It's a dream to play for Manchester United, it was not easy to get out of Sporting," said Marcos Rojo to Radio Continental.
"It will be a beautiful experience, I hope to adapt as quickly as possible to the style of play.”
The 24-year-old then went on to tell the press that he knew all about the club as former United star Juan Sebastian Veron would comment on his two-year spell at Old Trafford.
"When we were in Estudiantes de La Plata, Juan Sebastián Verón spoke to me much of the club," he confessed.
Marcos Rojo is predominantly a left-back with excellent attacking abilities although he is said to be comfortable at centre-back too.
In Louis Van Gaal’s renowned 3-5-2 formation, the versatile star could challenge new signing Luke Shaw for a place at wing-back or he might even be used as on the left of a back three.
The report goes on to say that Rojo is expected to be in Manchester on Tuesday as the final pieces of the transfer are sewn up.
Sporting paid Spartak Moscow £3.5 million for the star back in 2012, whereas United are now expected to splash out a reported £16 million for his services.
