According to reports, Manchester United winger Nani is currently in Portugal undergoing his medical ahead of a return to Sporting Lisbon.
The 27-year-old is said to be closing in on a season-long loan move, with Marcos Rojo tipped to head the other way in a four-year, £16million deal.
Portuguese radio station RTP has made the latest claims regarding Nani, with other reports suggesting an announcement could be made as early as 17:00 GMT that the player has returned to the club from which United signed him in 2007.
Huge things were expected from the player when he, along with Brazilian midfielder Anderson, arrived in a surprise double-swoop from Portugal seven years ago. But since then United fans have seen only fleeting glimpses of the player’s brilliance, with the winger frustrating far more often than he dazzles.
If Rojo does ultimately arrive at Old Trafford, fans may feel they have got the right end of that particular deal.
