A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

After a summer of mixed fortunes for Manchester United in terms of transfers, it seems they could be closing in on their third senior signing in the form of Marcos Rojo.

The Sporting Lisbon defender has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time, and now the Telegraph has picked up on quotes the player allegedly gave to radio Continental.

“It feels like a dream, to be a Manchester United player,” he is quoted as saying. “Leaving Sporting wasn’t easy.”

It is being claimed Rojo will complete his medical today with the hope that a move will be tied up quickly for a fee in the region of £16million.

In other news, the same newspaper has linked Alex Song with a potential switch to United after Barcelona made him available for transfer.

The former Arsenal player has been a regular in the gossip columns and it now seems he could be on the move this summer for around £8million.

That could prove to be a bargain for anyone willing to take a punt on the player.

And finally, Hull City have reportedly turned their attention away from United striker Danny Welbeck as they search for new strikers.

The Mirror reports that Tigers boss Steve Bruce has turned his attention to £9million-rated Vincent Aboubakar after being priced out of a move for Welbeck.
