Jonathan de Guzman is likely to officially become a Napoli player within the next 48 hours in spite of Queens Park Rangers attempting to lure him.
The Dutch international was on loan at Swansea for two years from Spanish side Villarreal but the latest spell ended at the start of the summer.
Villarreal weren't looking to keep hold of de Guzman and Swansea were unwilling to foot the bill, so Napoli and QPR stepped in.
The Italian newspaper reports that the midfielder's contract will be a five-year deal worth around £1.2 million per season.
It is suggested that QPR were willing to offer a shorter but much more lucrative deal but de Guzman preferred the chance to play for Napoli.
Napoli are still also pushing to try and sign Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United and appear to be getting closer to agreeing a loan switch.
However, it is being reported by some Italian media sources that the Belgian is waiting to see whether Napoli win their Champions League qualifier against Athletic Bilbao before committing.
