Chelsea and Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Cesc's stunning performance

Chelsea star and former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas impressed as the Blues defeated Burnley in their opening Premier League game.

Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas produced a perfect display on his return to the Premier League, which showed what an amazing coup it was for the club to snap him up this summer.

At just £27 million the Spaniard looked every inch the established star, playing with confidence of a player who has developed a great deal since he left Arsenal for Barcelona.

Having been overshadowed by Xavi and Andres Iniesta at the Nou Camp, the attraction for Fabregas to move was to become the main man at his next club, and this is a role handed to him at Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger controversially decided against signing him for Arsenal, the club where he made his debut and captained before originally departing for Spain.

Fabregas after the game said that returning to Chelsea was 'unexpected', but added that he was glad to be back in the Premier League.

The Spaniard's assist for Andre Schurrle was absolutely sublime, but that was merely the highlight in an all round impressive display, which earned him the man-of-the-match award from SkySports.

He ended the game with two assists, touching the ball 104 times, completing 87 per cent of his passes.

His return saw Chelsea fans on Twitter react with awe to his display, and Arsenal fans with a mix of frustration, and brushing his presence at their rivals aside - preferring to focus on their own stars.
