Manchester United winger heads out on loan to Sporting Lisbon as part of the deal.
Sporting Lisbon have announced Marcos Rojo will join Manchester United.
The Portuguese side confirmed the news via their Twitter feed:
Da venda de Marcos Rojo para o Man.Utd, 9M€ irão para a construcção do nosso Pavilhão. #SportingCP— Sporting (@Sporting_CP) August 19, 2014
They explained that the fee will go towards a construction project at the club, and excitedly welcomed Nani, who rejoins the side he left in 2007.
Nani has clinched a year long loan move to Sporting Lisbon, as part of a deal to take Marcos Rojo to Manchester United.
There are still believed to be formalities with third party owners which have to be negotiated before Manchester United can confirm the deal to sign Argentina defender Rojo at their end.
The signing is an immediate response to a poor defensive display at the weekend, but one which has been in the pipeline for weeks.
Rojo impressed at the World Cup, helping keep a clean sheet against Louis van Gaal's Netherlands side in the semi-final.
Manchester United have also confirmed Rojo will sign, pending a medical and personal terms being agreed:
