Exciting Eredivisie talent Memphis Depay, a 20-year-old attacker on the books at PSV Eindhoven, is coveted by Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur - and, judging from the player's most recent performance, a 6-1 win over NAC Breda, it is easy to see why…
The Netherlands international was responsible for scintillating cameo appearances at the World Cup in Brazil having returned nine dribbles, two goal-scoring chances, one assist and two goals from four outings (three as an impact substitute).
And Depay was creating headlines once again for the manner in which he took apart the NAC Breda defence.
On Saturday, August 16 at the Philips Stadion, Depay was accurate with two of his six shots - but scored with both. He created three goal-scoring opportunities (one of which was a direct assist), was lethal from set-pieces and was dangerous on the ball as he completed all four of his dribble attempts.
The match was by no means a fluke and was almost identical to the manner in which he brushed Willem II aside in PSV's first match of the Eredivisie season the weekend before where he he scored two, created two chances and completed two dribbles.
Depay has been linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, with the former seemingly the more likely to make a £15 million bid.
