The pressure on Manchester United to deliver in the summer transfer market is increasing and Fredy Guarin is said to be back on the radar.
It was a disappointing start to the Louis van Gaal era as United were beaten 2-1 by Swansea in a game that showed the need for reinforcements.
The focus of Manchester United's transfer policy over the last few weeks has been Juventus star Arturo Vidal, but a simpler and cheaper option may be Inter's Fredy Guarin.
The Colombian international midfielder was linked with Old Trafford back in January but Juventus seemed set to close out a deal instead before that fell through.
Guarin is expected to leave Inter and has been unsettled at San Siro since he agreed to sign for their rivals at the start of the year.
Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg are said to be ready to bid for Guarin and Napoli may enter the fray, but Manchester United are likely to be a much more desirable destination.
While Guarin wouldn't come cheap, he is valued at around £15 million, which is a fraction of the sum United are said to have bid for Vidal.
