Arsenal have received a boost ahead of the first leg of their Champions League play-off game against Besiktas after central defender Laurent Koscielny reported for training earlier today.
The Frenchman played at the heart of the back four for Arsenal’s opening Premier League win of the season against Crystal Palace, but he picked up an Achilles problem which threatened his inclusion for the match in Turkey.
However, he seems to have eradicated those initial fears after taking part in first team training ahead of the game.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said after the Palace game that of Koscielny is good to play then he’ll feature with German Per Mertesacker only to be included in the case of an emergency.
Mertesacker was given extra time off following Germany’s successful World Cup campaign and only returned to first team training last week.
Koscielny is likely to partner new signing Calum Chambers once again in the middle of the back four for tomorrow night.
