Tottenham Hotspur’s youngsters will be hoping to repeat the success of the first team this evening when they host West Ham United.
It’s the first game of the season for Spurs’ under-21 side and only two matches have been played so far in their half of the league format and Tottenham have a good chance of progressing to the final stage of the competition this season.
Spurs have one of the best academy setups in the country, which has allowed the likes of Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb to progress through to the first team in recent times.
The under-21 side also provides a platform for Mauricio Pochettino to nurse his first team regulars back to match fitness following injury.
John McDermott will be hoping his team can follow the results of Chelsea and Manchester United who won their opening games against Manchester City and Norwich City to take positions near the top of the table.
