Yesterday saw Fiorentina take on Real Madrid in a marque pre-season friendly, a friendly the Italian side surprisingly won.
Real Madrid came into the game off the back of an impressive Super Cup win against Sevilla. And it was their goalscorer in that game who did the business early on - Cristiano Ronaldo bagging the opening goal.
But Mario Gomez, the former Bayern Munich star, bagged an equaliser in the 27th minute.
But Fiorentina won the game when a familiar name to Premier League fans grabbed a winner in the 70th minute.
Marcos Alonso is a former Bolton youngster who spent last season on loan at Sunderland - where he impressed in their miracle survival from relegation.
But Alonso, who made one appearance for Real Madrid as a youngster, got one over on his former club by striking in this curling effort to claim the victory, and one over on the team that let him join Bolton in 2010.
Sunderland are reportedly keen to bring him in again this season, but after this performance it looks increasingly as if La Viola will not be letting him go anywhere this summer.
