PHOTOS: Aston Villa's 1-0 win at Stoke City in pictures

Andreas Weimann's second-half winner gave Villa the best possible start to their Premier League season.

Aston Villa provided their fans with some unforgettable images during Saturday's 1-0 win over Stoke City.

For the second season in a row, Paul Lambert's side hit the ground running - but fans will hope that can continue this time around.

Last term, Villa won 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, spectacularly upsetting Arsenal. This season, it was not an upset of quite such magnitude, though the Villans still surprised the odds.

Andreas Weimann's second-half winner gave Paul Lambert's side all three points as Mark Hughes' men failed to deliver in front of their home fans.

It was Roy Keane's first Premier League game as an assistant manager - and there were plenty of images of him with no.1 Lambert.

Weimann was also pictured celebrating his goal wildly, while there were a selection of other memorable pictures from the Britannia Stadium.

Impressively, the win leaves Aston Villa third in the Premier League table, although that form will need to be maintained if they are to improve on their 15th-placed finish from last term.

Lambert's side host Newcastle United in their next league fixture. Will they make it two wins out of two?

Either way, here are the best images from yesterday's win...
