Here are some of the best photos from Saturday’s Premier League action, including Aaron Ramsey’s late winner for Arsenal and Wayne Rooney’s brilliant goal for Manchester United.

The 2014-15 Premier League campaign kicked off on Saturday with a number of big teams in action on the opening day of the season.

First up were Manchester United against Swansea City in what was the Red Devils’ new manager Louis van Gaal’s first competitive game in charge.

It ended in agony for the Dutchman, as the 20-time English champions slumped to a 2-1 defeat to the Swans at Old Trafford.

United are supposed to be title-challengers this season and so are Arsenal, who were also in action on Saturday. The Gunners struggled against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium and edged past the Eagles 2-1, thanks to Aaron Ramsey’s injury-time strike (click here to read more).

There was also a late winner for Tottenham Hotspur, who were taking on West Ham United away from home. Eric Dier scored on his debut late on to hand new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino a wining start to his White Hart Lane career.

Aston Villa registered an away win as well, getting the better of Stoke City 1-0 at the Britannia Stadium, while Hull City edged past Queens Park Rangers by the same scoreline at Loftus Road in London.

Leicester City and Everton played out a 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium, and there was a similar scoreline in the match between West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland at The Hawthorns.
