Liverpool transfer news: Reds loan bid for Arsenal player rejected; Falcao prefers Real move

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool have approached Arsenal about the possibility of taking Joel Campbell on loan according to a report.

Goal claims Brendan Rodgers wanted to bring the Costa Rican international to Anfield, but that Arsene Wenger has no intention of allowing Campbell to go on loan until at least January.

That will give the Arsenal boss the chance to see what the 22-year-old can do in the top flight. And while Liverpool are in need of striking reinforcements, it was also highly unlikely that Wenger would strengthen a title rival.

Speaking of strikers, the Daily Mail reports that while Liverpool remain interested in Radamel Falcao, the Colombia front-man prefers a move to Real Madrid.

The Falcao links began once more after Rodgers revealed he would look to strengthen the Reds squad right up until transfer deadline-day.

But he would have to pull off an almighty coup to bring the Monaco player to Anfield.
