Former Southampton player Matt Le Tissier has sent a message to two of the club's summer signings.
As Southampton prepare to face Liverpool this afternoon, their fans could well have plenty of questions about the new campaign, not least how the recent signings will compare with this summer's departures.
New manager Ronald Koeman has impressed with his transfer dealings considering he walked into what appeared to be a fire-sale, and now it is up to those left and those fresh through the door to continue the excellent work on the pitch of the last few seasons.
Two players of whom the fans will expect plenty are new arrivals Graziano Pelle and Shane Long - the front-men tasked with replacing the goals of Rickie Lambert and ensuring this season is another one to remember for the right reasons on the south coast.
And former Southampton great Matt Le Tissier has taken to Twitter to send a message to the duo as they prepare to face Liverpool.
"Wear that shirt with pride," the former front-man told the pair who cost a combined £20million. "Good luck on your debuts."
He signed off with a request, which is likely to be echoed by all those fans watching them this afternoon and for the whole season long.
"Goals please," Le Tissier wrote.
But only time will tell if he gets his wish.
